Everybody plays in 16-0 victory

Lauren Brem went 4-for-4, hitting two triples, a double and single as Friday Harbor's softball team blanked La Conner 16-0 Tuesday, March 26, 2003.

"Everybody hit the ball so well," said Friday Harbor coach Kevin Carlton.

"We also played great defense," he added.

Carlton played all of his 17 players in the 5-inning game.

Sissy Carlton threw three innings and Beth Kelsey pitched two innings.

Friday Harbor girls romp in season opener

Kelsea Peterman smacked a three-run triple as the Friday Harbor softball team thumped La Conner in the Wolverines' season and Northwest A League opener Friday, March 20.

"We hit the ball extremely well," said Friday Harbor coach Kevin Carlton.

Peterman hit 3-for-3 against the host Braves. Sissy Carlton each went 2-for-3 at the plate and pitched four strong innings. Megan Vynne rapped two hits in three at-bats.

"We fielded the ball well," Carlton said.

Freshman Beth Kelsey struck out the side in the fifth inning for the Wolverines.
