Wolverine softball team wins 6th straight

Friday Harbor's softball team rocked Concrete for five runs in the first inning and went on to a 9-2 Northwest A League victory Tuesday, April 1.

The Wolverines scored a run in the second before the visiting Lions scored 2 runs in the third inning. Friday Harbor scored 3 more runs in the bottom of the inning.

Erica Percich, Lizzy Herbert and Kelsea Peterman rapped consecutive doubles in the first inning. Herbert added another double and Peterman hit a single. Megan Vynne and Lauren Brem each smacked a single and double and Cassie Brophy hit three singles.

Sissy Carlton earned the win. Beth Kelsey and Anna McLaskey also threw strong for the Wolverines.

Friday Harbor improves to 3-0 in conference play and 6-0 overall.


Wolverine softball team rallies against Wolves

Megan Vynne batted 3-for-4 in the Friday Harbor softball team's come-from-behind victory at Coupeville Friday, March 31, 2003.

Coupeville went up 6-0 in the bottom of the first inning but Friday Harbor scored 3 in the second, 3 in the third to tie the game. The Wolverines went ahead 7-6 in the top of the fourth but the Wolves added two in the bottom of the frame. Friday Harbor drove in 2 runs in the fifth to lead 9-8 but the home team pounded out 4 in the bottom of the inning.

After breaking out for six runs in the sixth, the Wolverines held the Wolves scoreless and added a run in the seventh.

Sissy Carlton earned the win for the Wolverines, who improve to 2-0 in Northwest A League play.


Wolverines blank Lions

Friday Harbor's softball team routed Snohomish County Christian 22-0 in five innings Saturday, March 29, 2003.

The Wolverines improve to 4-0 with the non-league victory.
