Friday Harbor moved into first place after Archbishop Murphy -- the only team to beat the Wolverines this season -- forfeited two games this week. The Wolverines are 10-1 and the Wildcats are 7-2. After giving up four runs in the top of the first against Coupeville, Friday Harbor tied the game in the bottom of the inning. The Wolverines added two runs apiece in the second, third and fifth while limiting the Wolves to one in the fifth.

Wolverine softball squad shuts out Braves

Lauren Brem rapped three singles and drove in a pair of runs. Winning pitcher Sissy Carlton hit two base hits and drove in a couple of runs. Freshman Kylie Foster, pinch-hitting in the bottom of the sixth, singled in the game-ending runs. Erica Percich smacked two singles and had two RBI. Megan Vynne and Natalie Chevalier each cracked a double. Brandi Miller and Lizzie Herbert hit a single apiece. The Wolverines improve to 11-1 overall. |
