Wolverines softball team splits
against 2A foes

Friday Harbor conquered Sultan 7-1 and lost 14-2 to Lynden Christian at the Blaine Invitational Tournament Saturday, May 3.

The Wolverines, already up 2-1against Sultan in their first game of the 12-team tournament, blasted the Turks for five runs in the fifth innning. Brandi Miller cleared the bases with a triple.

Lauren Brem hit 3-for-3. Sissy Carlton went 2-for-3 at the plate and didn’t give up an earned run on the mound.

Coach Kevin Carlton played all the Wolverines in the loss to Lynden Christian.

Friday Harbor improves to 12-2 overall.


Wolverine softball squad wins 10th league game

Friday Harbor's softball team won its 10th Northwest A League contest of the season as 11 Wolverines ripped hits in a 10-5 home-field victory over Thursday, May 1.

Friday Harbor moved into first place after Archbishop Murphy -- the only team to beat the Wolverines this season -- forfeited two games this week. The Wolverines are 10-1 and the Wildcats are 7-2.

After giving up four runs in the top of the first against Coupeville, Friday Harbor tied the game in the bottom of the inning. The Wolverines added two runs apiece in the second, third and fifth while limiting the Wolves to one in the fifth.

Wolverine softball squad shuts out Braves

Friday Harbor's softball team erupted for seven runs in the sixth inning of a 11-0 home-field victory over La Conner Tuesday, April 29, 2003. The Wolverines up their Northwest A League record to 9-1 with the win.

Lauren Brem rapped three singles and drove in a pair of runs. Winning pitcher Sissy Carlton hit two base hits and drove in a couple of runs. Freshman Kylie Foster, pinch-hitting in the bottom of the sixth, singled in the game-ending runs. Erica Percich smacked two singles and had two RBI.

Megan Vynne and Natalie Chevalier each cracked a double. Brandi Miller and Lizzie Herbert hit a single apiece.

The Wolverines improve to 11-1 overall.
