"After the first game, it would’ve been really easy to roll over," said Friday Harbor coach Rich Warin of his players. "I was proud of the way they came back." Friday Harbor, 10-3 in league play, finishes the season in a doubleheader at La Conner Friday, May 7. Archbishop Murphy is 9-4. Concrete is 8-3. Cumming hit 3-for-4 and had 3 RBI for the Wolverines in the second game. He cracked two doubles and a single and stole a base. Elliot Thomsen doubled and drove in a run. Andrew Westphalen smacked a double and Eric Rothlisberger hit two singles. The Wolverines trailed the Wildcats 4-3 in the sixth inning. Chas Lawson led off with a single and advanced to third base on Eric Rothlisberger’s base hit. With one out, Lawson scored on Jesse Woodruff’s sacrifice bunt. Cumming popped a single to shallow centerfield, driving Rothlisberger home. Wolverine pitcher Ian MacDougall buckled down after starting the seventh inning with a walk and balk and another walk. He went the full seven innings in recording the victory. Friday Harbor went up 1-0 in the first inning after Cumming and Thomsen smacked doubles. The Wildcats tied the game in the second inning but the Wolverines added three in the bottom of the frame. With one out, Rothlisberger and Trevor Bacon hit singles. Cumming cracked a double, driving them home. Archbishop scored a run in the third, fifth and sixth innings.
