Turks tough in FH girls season opener

The Class 2A Sultan Turks upended Friday Harbor 47-27 in a season-opening girls basketball game Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003.

"Our girls played hard. They didn't quit," new Friday Harbor head coach Steve Anderson said.

The Wolverines are a young team with nine sophomores and three juniors listed on the varsity roster. "They're going to be fine," Anderson said. "The first couple of games we'll find out what we need to work on."

Lauren Peterson, a junior transfer, led the Wolverines with 20 points. Sophomore Sarah Anderson, sophomore Alana Sullivan and freshman Sarah Galligan contributed 2 points apiece. Junior Lizzy Herbert scored 1.
