Wolverine girls trim Lions

posted 02/04/04
Natalie Chevalier pumped in 8 points as Friday Harbor girls basketball team rallied for a 48-43 win over Concrete Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004.

"She was a beast," said Friday Harbor coach Steve Anderson said of Chevalier, who scored a season-high 17 points and yanked down15 rebounds before the home crowd.

"It was a fun game," Chevalier said.

Friday Harbor trailed by five points in the fourth but exploited the Lions’ weak spot down the stretch.

"We know we had to get it into the post and we could win the game," Chevalier said.

"Our girls decided they did want to win," Anderson said.

The Wolverines are 3-5 and are still have a shot at the playoffs. "Losing that game would’ve pretty much ended our season," Chevalier said of the Concrete contest.

Madison Judkins scored 12 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Lauren Peterson tossed in 8 points. Megan Vynne had 6 points and 5 rebounds. Lizzy Herbert chipped 4 and Annie Bryant contributed 2.

Jackie Lewis drilled five three-pointers and led the Lions with 16 points.
