Short-handed Friday Harbor came back for a 9-7 victory against Coupeville Saturday, April 11, 2004 and blanked the Wolves in the second game 12-0.

Friday Harbor senior Erica Percich smashed a game-winning grand slam in the sixth inning of the first game, breaking a 5-5 tie. "She just blew it up over the centerfield fence," said Friday Harbor coach Kevin Carlton. "You don’t see that very often."

Jessica Peacock allowed only two hits in four innings of the second game. "Jessica hasn’t pitched much this season but she pitched so well," Carlton said.

Percich went 3-for-4 at the plate and had 6 RBI. Her grand slam was her four home run this season. Percich also filled in at catcher for Natalie Chevalier, one of nine Wolverines off-island during spring break. "She did great back there," Carlton said.

Lizzy Herbert hit 2-for-2.

Elana Porten and Anna Anderson also played "great" for the Wolverines, Carlton said. "It was a total team win."

Beth Kelsey earned the win for the Wolverines.

Megan Vynne rapped three singles and triple in the second game. She had 6 RBI.

Friday Harbor improves to 3-1 in Northwest A League play and 6-3 overall.
