Percich goes the cycle in win

posted 04/05/04
Erica Percich hit for the cycle as the Friday Harbor softball team topped Coupeville 11-4 in their Northwest A League opener Friday, April 2, 2004.

"She bombed two balls," Friday Harbor coach Kevin Carlton said of the senior’s batting in the away contest. Percich finished 4-for-5 with 6 RBI.

"Our girls played really, really well.... They pounded 21 hits," Carlton said.

Natalie Chevalier smacked two doubles and a triple and finished 3-for-5.

Friday Harbor’s Nos. 7, 8 and 9 hitters -- Sarah Anderson, Cassie Brophy and Mackenzie Raab -- went 6-for-9. Raab also drove in two runs. "You got to love that," Carlton said.

Beth Kelsey earned the win for the Wolverines. She struck out five, walked three and allowed four earned runs in seven innings. "Beth walked a couple in the fourth inning but came back strong," Carlton said.
