Friday Harbor girls place 2nd in first meet of season

Madison Judkins dominated the 3200-meter run, winning the event by nearly two minutes as the Friday Harbor girls track team finished second at Coupeville in the first meet of the season. Judkins also finished first in the 1600 run and the Wolverines won the 4 x 100 relay.

Coupeville won the meet with 89 points. Friday Harbor scored 66. Mount Vernon Christian finished third with 58 points, Lopez was fourth with 22 points and Grace Academy was fifth with 8.

Judkins finished the 3200 in in 13 minutes and 48.84 seconds and completed the 1600 in 6:17.99. Friday Harbor’s sprinters won the 4 x 100 in :59.92.

Karen Morrill won the javelin competition with a throw of 102 feet, 6 inches. Sara Heeren, in her first high school meet, finished second with a 70-11 toss.
