Morrill finishes first in javelin at District

Friday Harbor senior Karen Morrill flung the javelin 108 feet, seven inches -- two feet off her best mark -- for a first-place finished at the District 1A Track and Field Championships at La Conner Saturday, May 15.

The top five District finishers advance to the state-qualifying Class A Tri-District Meet at King’s Thursday, May 20 and Saturday, May 22.

The Wolverines placed fourth at District. Team totals were: 1. La Conner 137; Archbishp Murphy 115; 3. Coupeville 62; 4. Friday Harbor 33; 5. Concrete 2.
