Wolverines top Vikings in regular season closer

Friday Harbor girls softball team completed the regular season with 9-3 and 12-4 victories at Orcas Wednesday, May 12.

"They’re vastly improved," Friday Harbor coach Kevin Carlton said of the Vikings. "We scored a bunch at the end of the games."

Shay Hopkins hit 3-for-5 with three singles and three RBIs. Megan Vynne went 3-for-4 and smacked a home run, a double and two base hits. Annie Bryant was 3-for-3 with a triple.

In the second game, Brandi Miller hit 3-for-4 with two singles and a homer. Elena Porten went 3-for-4 and Erica Percich smashed her seventh homer of the season. Cassie Brophy was 3-for-3 with a double.

The Wolverines finished second in the Northest A League and enters the Class A Tri-District Tournament in Mount Vernon May 22.
