"That was a character-builder," Friday Harbor coach Rich Warin. The Wolverines trailed 3-0 in the first but tied the game 4-4 in the fourth. Both teams scored in the fifth but the Wolverines added two in the sixth and seventh. Chas Lawson went to the mound in the third inning and exited with the win. He struck out eight, gave up one run, allowed four hits and walked one Brave over five innings. "He came in and shut them down," Warin said. Lawson also shined at the plate -- he smacked four hits and reached base in all five at-bats. "Chas just kept starting us," Warin said. Matt Rothlisberger cracked two doubles, two singles and drove in three runs for the Wolverines. Forrest Crawford hit two singles and had three RBI. Eric Rothlisberger had two base hits. Peter Shanks and Trefor Bacon each rapped a double. Friday Harbor improves to 6-0 and 9-2 overall. |
