Wolverines thump Loggers

Friday Harbor’s baseball team won its 10th straight Northwest A/B League game by topping Darrington 12-8 Tuesday, May 10.

The Wolverines are 10-0 in league play and 13-2 for the season.


Wolverine baseball team clinches league title

Friday Harbor’s baseball team hammered down a Northwest A/B League title by pounding Shoreline 16-0 and 9-0 in a road doubleheader Saturday, May 7.

The Wolverines improved to 9-0 in league with three league games remaining. Concrete, Coupevill and La Conner have already lost four games.

Peter Shanks and Forrest Crawford combined for a five-inning no-hitter against the Crusaders in the first game. Shanks, who rapped a single and double, threw the first three innings and notched the victory. Crawford tossed the final two frames and smacked a double.

Matt Rothlisberger ripped two doubles and a single and drove in 4 runs. Trefor Bacon cracked a pair of doubles and had 3 RBI. Eric Rothlisberger smacked two doubles and had 2 RBI. Jesse Woodruff hit three singles.

Chas Lawson allowed 1 hit in three innings in the second game and recorded the win. The Crusaders managed only three hits in 12 innings against the Wolverines.

Woodruff singled twice and doubled. Shanks rapped three hits. Lawson hit a single and double.

The Wolverine defense turned three double plays and allowed only 3 hits over 12 innings.

Friday Harbor is 12-2 overall.
