The Lady Wolverines have finally found their stride! Saturday's 3-0 win over Seattle Lutheran demonstrated the Wolverine's potential as the defense, led by sweeper Natalie Chevalier, held any serious attempts on goal. Fahren Carlson and Sarah Anderson each put in solid efforts on the Wolverine defense which looked organized, confident and strong. Sophomore Hanna Burke helped buoy the first half efforts of Friday Harbor with inspired play up front. While Seattle Lutheran was not able to mount any serious attempts on goal, they held Friday Harbor at bay until three minutes into the second half when Shay Hopkins found Elena Porten unmarked outside the penalty box and she found the back of the net. Freshman Beth Ware entered the game at the 65th minute and earned the Wolverine's second goal three minutes later. Outside midfielders Sammy Gibson, Alinson Nash, Zoie Guidotti, and Tierney Cunningham all played solid matches, out hustling their Seattle Lutheran counterparts. The final goal of the match came from Chevalier who traded positions with center striker Shay Hopkins for the last ten minutes of the match. Chevalier beat two defenders, took a hard shot which bounced out of the keeper's hands, and followed it with a clean volley into the right corner.
