65th minute: Shay Hopkins

Midfielder Alinson Nash got off to a great start helping control the midfield game before a hard tackle sidelined her with an injured knee. Despite rallying towards the Wolves' goal numerous times, Friday Harbor was unable to score though they hit the goal post on at least three occasions. Finally at the 37th minute Sammy Michael rifled a pass to Shay Hopkins who beat one player and neatly put the ball in the upper right corner of the goal.

Both teams came on the pitch fired up in the second half. Goalkeeper Anna McLaskey made several outstanding saves including a stupendous second effort on a corner kick. The ball had a weird spin coming off an attacker and she barely managed to swat it out of the goal, but a Coupeville striker one-touched a shot at the far post where McLaskey met it with an acrobatic diving save.

Fifteen minutes in the second half Hopkins took it on herself to put Friday Harbor up another point as she beat three Coupeville defenders and put a hard shot on goal from thirty yards out which Coupeville's goalie was unable to save.

McLaskey made the save of the year when after Coupeville was awarded a penalty kick for a handball in the penalty box. Mclaskey carefully gauged her opponent and made the diving save look oh-so-easy.

Zoie Guidotti demonstrated great poise on the Wolverine's offensive end of the pitch, delivering outstanding passes. Lillan Roquet continues to develop her natural talent as a center midfielder. She will continue to be a major asset for the Lady Wolverine's on both ends of the field.
