Friday Harbor softball team suffers first loss of season

Undefeated Concrete clipped Friday Harbor 3-1 in Northwest A/B League softball action Friday, April 8.

"It was a tough ball game," Friday Harbor coach Kevin Carlton said of his team's first loss of the season. "We just came out flat."

Britt Howell fanned 15 Wolverines. Friday Harbor's Jenny Guard, Lauren Brem and Katie Shanks rapped singles.

Beth Kelsey struck out nine Lions and gave up three hits in the loss.

Friday Harbor is 2-1 in league play and 3-1 overall.
