Kelsey sisters combine for no-hitter

Beth Kelsey and her younger sister Alysa ??? hurled five innings of no-hit fastpitch softball as Friday Harbor blanked Darrington 13-0 Tuesday, May 10.

"That’s pretty cool," said Friday Harbor coach Kevin Carlton.

Beth upped her record to 12-2. The elder Kelsey struck out seven of nine batters during the first three innings. She walked two batters.

Alysa fanned one batter and didn’t allow a Logger to reach base.

Jenny Guard hit 4-for-4 and Lauren Brem went 2-for-3 for the Wolverines.

Friday Harbor improves to 6-2 in Northwest A/B League and clinches a second-place finish. The Wolverines are 10-3 overall.


Concrete softball edges Friday Harbor

Concrete trimmed Friday Harbor 4-1 Tuesday, May 3 and remained undefeated in Northwest A/B League softball.

Friday Harbor is 5-2 and in second place. The Wolverines are 8-2 for the season.


Friday Harbor softball team ups record to 8-1

Natalie Chevalier hit 3-for-4 in the Friday Harbor softball team’s 9-3 victory at La Conner Friday, April 29.

The Wolverines are 5-1 in Northwest A/B League action, one game back of Concrete. The Lions visit Friday Harbor for the Wolverines final home game of the season at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow, May 3.

Beth Kelsey earned her eighth win. She struck out eight Braves and gave up only two hits.

Kiersten Radden hit a single and double and Lauren Brem crushed a triple. Kateie Shanks, Sarah Anderson and MacKenzie Raab each rapped a singles.
