Wolverine spikers notch first winposted 09/27/04
"Everybody was really happy to that one on the board," said Friday Harbor coach Kris Nieland. The Wolverines won the three games 25-11, 25-16, 25-10. "We played relaxed.... It was almost textbook, pass, set, spike," Nieland said. "The fans that stuck with us were finally rewarded." Madison Judkins, who sprained an ankle earlier in the month, played strong as the middle hitter for the Wolverines. "Madison had a whole bunch of kills and a lot of ace serves," Nieland said. "Jessica Chaffee did really well in her hitting," Nieland said of the senior. Freshman Ashley Grone performed well for the Wolverines. "She had a couple of long serving runs," Nieland said. |
