Friday Harbor wrestler Jason Grone closed his high school wrestling career in a hard fought 12-7 loss to Aaron Cornett of Ocasta at the Mat Classic in the Tacoma Dome Feb. 18, 2005. Danica Britain finishes up at the Girls Invitational State Tournament with a match on Saturday.

Grone pins Warden wrestler

Friday Harbor wrestler Jason Grone pinned Trevor Rollins of Warden in 45 seconds to continue in the consolation bracket at the Mat Classic in the Tacoma Dome. Grone wrestles again this evening against Aaron Cornett of Ocasta. The winner advances to the medal round Saturday, February 19, 2005.

Banry and Miller were eliminated from the competition. B. J. Carver of Royal defeated Kyle Miller (130) by technical fall (16-1). Jeff McNally of Wahkiakum pinned Britt Banry (150) at 3:30.

Wrestlers move on to consolation round

Friday Harbor wrestlers Kyle Miller, Britt Banry and Jason Grone lost in the first round of the Mat Classic in the Tacoma Dome today (Friday, Feb. 18, 2005). They move into the consolation round this evening. Danika Britain lost her first match in the Girls Invitational State Tournament.

Kevin Cook of Toledo pinned Miller 1:09 into the 130-lb. bout. Justin Thompson pinned Britt Banry at 2:48 in a 160-lb. vatch. Tony Love of Libertyville won an 11-6 decision over Jason Grone in 171-lb contest. Aminda Aasen of Elma pinned Britain in the first period.
