Wolverine boys rally, stop Hurricanes in OT

Friday Harbor boys soccer booted three unanswered goals in a 3-2 overtime victory at Mount Vernon Christian Thursday, Oct. 20. With the victory, the Wolverines preserved their undefeated record and cemented sole possession of first place in the Northwest A/B League's Large School Division.

The Wolverines improve to 8-0 in division action. After their second loss of the season to Friday Harbor, the second-place Hurricanes drop to 7-2. Friday Harbor hosts Orcas Island at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 and completes conference play by hosting Coupeville at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Mount Vernon Christian went up 2-0 in the first half but the Wolverines stormed back. Erik Nash scored early in the second period. A goal by Mario Nunez knotted the match and the forward kicked the golden goal four minutes into overtime.
