Wolve spikers nip Wolverines in 5-game match

Friday Harbor’s volleyball team came a point from upsetting Coupeville Tuesday, Oct. 25 in a thrilling match. The Wolves swept the Wolverines in their first meeting at their den. Friday Harbor made the visiting Northwest A/B League foe work extra hard for a 3-2 victory.

The Wolverines rolled to 25-20, 25-18 victories in the first two games, but the Wolves took the third game 25-17. Friday Harbor built a four-point lead toward the end of the fourth game and were a point from the match win with a 24-23 lead. The Wolves rallied, though, outscoring the Wolverines 4-1 for the 27-25 game victory. Coupeville clipped Friday Harbor 15-6 in the fifth game.
