Friday Harbor spikers close season with win

Wolverine volleyball seniors - Natalie Chevalier, Pearl Shuman, Jenny Lee, Annie Bryant and Madison Judkins wrapped up their high school career with a win over Concrete.

The Friday Harbor volleyball squad closed the season with a 3-1 Northwest 1A/B League victory over Concrete.

"It’s always nice to go out on a high note," said Friday Harbor coach Michelle Mayer.

Friday Harbor five senior seniors -- Annie Bryant, Pearl Schuman, Natalie Chevalier, Jenny Lee and Madison Judkins -- shined in their final game before the home crowd.

"Natalie played heads up at the net," Mayer said of the first-year player.

"Pearl had great serves and digs," Mayer said of the Wolverines other first-year senior player.

"Annie played with every ounce of intensity that she’s known for," her coach said. "Jenny (Lee) had some great hits."

"Madison was a big wall to hit against," Mayer said. "They did a great job," Mayer said.

"There was great improvement this season, though it didn’t reflect wholely in our record," Mayer said. "It was a good start for next year."
