Wolverine girls overpower Lobos

Friday Harbor girls basketball team used size and experience to win their home opener Tuesday, Dec. 6: The Wolverines thumped Lopez 66-12 in a non-league game.

The young Lobos -- with only one upperclassman on their roster -- struggled against the Wolverines’ stifling defensive pressure. Friday Harbor went up 43-6 at the end of the third quarter.

Nine Wolverines scored as Steve Anderson used his entire bench. Natalie Chevalier paced the Wolverines eith 13 points and Pearl Schuman chipped in 10. Madison Judkins and Kiersten Radden pitched in 9 points apiece. Sarah Heeren scored 7 and Sarah Anderson had 6. Amanda Root contributed 4.

Lisa Vaughn led Lopez scorers with 7. Larissa Berg and Ashley Sahli each scored 2 and Lindsey Cummins had 1.
