Rothlisberger fans 10 Vikings in 2-hitterBy Matt Pranger
Friaday Harbor senior hurler Matt Rothlisberger struck out 10, gave up two hits and walked four in a 4-0 victory over Orcas Island Tuesday, April 24. Albert Strasser and Eddie Nash bashed back-to-back doubles in the second inning to give the Wolverines the winning margin for the Northwest 1A/2B League victory. Rothlisberger, throwing on short rest, carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning. The Vikings added another single in the seventh. Rothlisberger scored on an error in the third inning to put the Wolverines up 2-0. The hosts added two more runs in the sixth on Jordan Nash's bases-loaded single. Seiji Bokun started the inning by reaching base on balls and advanced to second on a passed ball. Strasser and Eddie Nash walked to load the bases for Jordan Nash. | |
