Wolverines romp past Lyncs
Tyler Hart rushed for two touchdowns and Trent Roberts made two touchdown receptions as Friday Harbor blasted Lynden Christian 35-10 Saturday, Oct. 7. "I was glad to see our players rebound after last week," said Friday Harbor coach Richard, referring to a loss at Meridian. Friday Harbor improves to 4-1. The Wolverines fumbled on the first play from scrimmage but their defense shut down the Lyncs on their 16-yard line. After Cole Franklin connected with Roberts on a long pass, the Wolverine quarterback snuck in for a touchdown. Cody Price booted the PAT and Friday Harbor led 7-0 with 5 minutes and 51 seconds to go in the first quarter.
Hart returned a punt for a touchdown but it was negated by a penalty. Hart responded with a 64-yard sprint from scrimmage and Friday Harbor led 13-0 with 3:12 to go in the first period. Eighteen seconds later the Lyncs returned the kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown and pulled within a six points. The PAT failed. Hart zipped 80 yards for his second touchdown with a minute to go in the first quarter. Franklin threaded the ball to Roberts for the two-point conversion and the Wolverines led 21-7. A minute and a half into the second quarter Franklin tossed a 35-yard touchdown pass to Roberts. Price kicked the PAT. Friday Harbor scored its fifth touchdown of the half when Franklin threw an 18-yard dart to Roberts. Price kicked the point-after. Lynden Christian booted a 40-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
