Goff gives up 1 hit in debut softball victory

Freshman Kerri Goff, in her first varsity appearance, gave up only one hit in five innings and walked none as Friday Harbor blanked Darrington 13-0 Tuesday, March 27.

"That's pretty darn good for a rookie," said Friday Harbor coach Kevin Carlton.

Goff started the road contest with four hitless innings. She struck out the side in the second inning. She battled back from two 3-0 counts. Goff also smacked two base hits and a double.

Beth Ware pitched the final two innings for the Friday Harbor.

Jenny Guard hit 4-for-5 for the Wolverines against the Loggers. Kiersten Radden doubled and singled. Brooke Jangard and Ali Wade doubled. Beth Ware, Hannah Snow, Sunny Pascoe, Mollie Taylor and Courtney Clark each hit a single.

All 17 Wolverines played in the contest.


Friday Harbor softball team trims Coupeville in opener

Friday Harbor's Kiersten Radden rapped a double as the Wolverine softball team opened the season with a 5-4 trimming of Coupeville. Beth Ware earned the win for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines host the Wolves at 4 p.m. Friday, March 16 in their home-opener.
