Friday Harbor softball comeback falls short

Friday Harbor's softball team rallied four runs in the final inning at La Conner Tuesday, April 10 but fell 13-8 to the Braves.

Beth Ware singled, doubled and tripled and Jenny Guard smacked two base hits and a double. Brooke Jangard rapped a single and double. Kiersten Radden banged out two base hits.

Concrete, behind Britt Howell's dominating pitching, defeated Friday Harbor 16-0 and 15-1 in a Northwest 1A/2B League softball doubleheader.

Beth Ware drilled two doubles for the Wolverines in the first game. "Gosh, she ripped the ball," Friday Harbor coach Kevin Carlton said.

In the second game, Friday Harbor scored a rare run against the Lions. Jenny Guard reached base on a dropped third strike, went to second on a passed ball and scored on Kiersten Radden's single. Kestrel Bailey also had a base hit for the Wolverines.
