Wolverine tennis squad defeats Sedro-WoolleyAlbert Strasser and Seiji Boku won in doubles action as Friday Harbor defeated Sedro-Woolley 5-2 Sept. 29. Strasser and Boku defeated Dustin Morgan and Shawn Roh 6-2, 6-3. Friday Harbor's Jake Ronhaar and Shay Byington beat Damel Morgan and Jeremy Burke 6-3, 6-3. Sedro-Woolley's Mike Morgan and J.D. Lee defeated Pablo Lopez and Louis Paul 6-2, 6-3. In singles action, Friday Harbor's Peter Duggins topped Orion Donovan-Smith 6-1, 7-5. Mike Sandifer blanked Cy Donovan-Smith 6-0, 6-0. Friday Harbor's Zach Milkis defeated Bobby Backstrom 6-1, 6-2. Sedro-Woolley's Dominik Altendorf defeated Keller McNairy 6-0, 6-1. Friday Harbor tennis team tops Marysville JVFriday Harbor boys tennis team beat Marysville junior varsity 6-1 Sept. 27. Wolverines finish second in their inviteKeller McNairy placed second in singles action in the Friday Harbor Invitational Saturday, Sept. 23 and the Wolverines finished second in the team standings. Lynden won the tourney with 30 points. Friday Harbor scored 23. Coupeville finished third with 23 and Sedro-Woolley was fourth with 10. McNairy advanced to the championship match by blanking Sedro-Woolley's Orion Donovan-Smith 6-0 and beating Coupeville's Jordan Lamb 6-2. Sedro-Woolley's Dominik Altendorf edged McNairy 6-3 in the final. Friday Harbor's Peter Duggins finished fourth. Altendorf beat Duggins 6-1 in the opening round but Duggins won his next two matches. He defeated Coupeville's Conner Tasoff 6-2 and topped Lynden's Jimmy Gassman 6-1. The Wolverine doubles teams finished fifth and sixth. |
