Ochoa tosses 2-hitter in Friday Harbor's 4-2 victory over Meridian 4-2

Richie Ochoa threw a 2-hitter as Friday Harbor trimmed Meridian 4-2 Friday, March 21 in non-league baseball.

Ochoa struck out 11, walked 1 and allowed 2 hits and gave up 1 earned run.

"We played a good ball game," Friday Harbor coach Rich Warin said of the non-league victory.

"It was a well-fought game," said assistant coach Steve Schramm. "Richie did a good job."

The Wolverines went up 2-0 in the second inning. Albert Strasser doubled and Justin James worked a walk. Alex Jangard cracked an RBI-single and scored on Ryan Aylward's base hit.

Ochoa doubled in the fifth inning and went home on James' single.

Friday Harbor's Ryan Aylward and Michael Knowles reached base on balls in the sixth inning and Aylward scored on Jordan Nash's double.

The Trojans scored in the sixth and seventh innings.

Friday Harbor left 10 runners on base.
