Wolverines beat North Sound Christian Soccer team 6-1

Girl’s Soccer Game of 10/22/2007: As they have done time and again, the Lady Wolverines regrouped from a defeat and put on a clinic on Monday the 22nd, in their victory over North Sound Christian. A bit of a slow start allowed NSC to grab an early 1-0 lead, but the rest of the match was all Friday Harbor. Charlotte Nygaard leveled the score off a feed from Kate Fyrqvist and the Wolverines took the lead on yet another goal by Beth Ware off a deft pass from Clara Brand. At half time the score was Friday Harbor 2- North Sound Christian 1.

In the second half, girls took up where they left off in the first. Amanda Root when given the opportunity to play striker took full advantage and made it 3-1 off a Ware service.

Midfielder Elle Guard scored her second of the year to make it 4-1. Whitney Porter took it to 5-1 finishing a corner from Nygaard, the team’s remarkable 9th of the season. The last official tally was a lovely 1-2 from Faby Bell’s long direct kick to Madie McPadden for her first goal as a Wolverine. A booming strike by Alex MacDonald hit the crossbar and was tapped in by Shelby Ness but was mysteriously disallowed. At the death, the highlight of the match was the denial of a penalty kick by keeper Lola Elford.

Final score: Friday Harbor 6- North Sound Christian 1
