Lopez Island boys basketball team claims league title
Lopez Island boys basketball team topped Tulalip Heritage 72-62
Tuesday, Feb. 5 and clinched the Northwest 1B League title. A win in
their next game would secure the Lobo boys their first trip to a state
tourney.
The Lobos advance as the Northwest 1B League's No. 1 seed to the
Class 1B Bi-District Tournament. They will play the winner of a game
between Clallam Bay and Lummi Saturday, Feb. 9 at Mountlake Terrace
High School. The winner goes on to the Bi-District championship and
secures a state berth. The loser continues in consolation bracket. The
top three Bi-District teams receive state berths.
