Jordan Smith finished second in state in high jump.
The Lopez Island High School Boys track team placed second in the Class 1B State Tournament in Cheney this weekend. The team total was 79 points. First place Odessa High School earned 99 points, third-place St. John/Endicott 66. Junior Sebastion Lasbo and seniors Keaton Farris, Jordan Smith and Terrell Carter won gold medals in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 45.88. Smith finished second in the high jump with a 6-01.00. Carter took second place in the boys 400-meter dash with a time of 51.91. In the boys 4x400 meter relay, Carter, Lasbo, Farris and Smith took third place with a time of 3:40.53. Lasbo finished third in the boys 800-meter run (2:05.71).
Senior Ben Strom finished fourth in the triple jump with a 39-01.00. Wind 1.8. Junior Jordan Haber was fourth (17.05) and senior Sam Barr was fifth (17.19) in the 110 meter hurdles. Wind 0.3. In the 100 meter dash, Smith finished fifth (12.01) and Farris sixth (12.12). Wind was 0.6. In the 400 meter dash, Lasbo was fifth with a time of 54.56. Haber (44.30) was fourth and Barr was sixth (45.81) in the 300-meter hurdles. Farris was seventh in the 200-meter dash (24.13). Wind 0.7.
