Wolverine baseball squad trims Wildcats

Brett Bartmasser and Andrew Westphalen each rapped triples as the Friday Harbor baseball edged Archbishop Murphy 6-3 in a Northwest A League game, Tuesday, March 26.

"It was very satisfying to open league (play) with a win," said Rus Reyes, who relieved starter and winner Jacob Ross after four innings.

Friday Harbor, 3-0 overall, travels to Orcas today, March 28 and hosts the Vikings the next day.

Wolverines sweep Lions

Friday Harbor's baseball team thumped Snohomish County Christian 18-3 in their first outing of the season and the Wolverines ripped the Lions 8-1 in the second game of the road non-league doubleheader.

Jacob Ross pitched three innings and earned the victory in the first game. Elliot Thomsen smacked three hits, including a double and had 4 RBI. Fletcher Vynne cracked three hits.

Rus Reyes notched the victory in the second game. He hit a single and double and drove in 3 runs. Ross singled, doubled and tripled.

Thomsen, added two more hits, one a double, and finished the day 5-for-6. Brady Ryan rapped two hits in each game and Brett Bartmasser also hit well, Friday Harbor coach Rich Warin said.
