Friday Harbor boys take second in league meet

John Marsh, Nathan Smith and Lucas Franco posted top finishes as the Friday Harbor boys track team came in second at the Northwest A League Championships Friday, May 2 at Coupeville.

Archbishop Murphy won the meet with 148 points. Friday Harbor finished solidly in second with 94. La Conner scored 64, Coupeville 19 and Concrete 9.

The Wolverines next compete in the District 1 Meet at La Conner Friday, May 11. The top five finishers in each event advance to the Tri-District Meet at King's High School Thursday, May 16 and Saturday, May 18. The top six finishers in each Tri-District event advance to the Class 2A, A and B State Meet at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, May 23-25.

Friday Harbor's Lucas Franco, Jesse Kjolso and Nathan Smith posted first-place finishes as the boys track team closed the regular season with a second-place effort in a home meet Friday, April 26.

The Wolverines scored 155 points. Archbishop Murphy won the meet with 237. Coupeville had 51, Lopez 9 and Grace Academy 1.
