Spring Street International School wins International Marketing Award
Friday Harbor, WA -- Spring Street International School won a 2022 Bronze InspirED School Marketers Brilliance Award this week for its admissions video, the only international competition that recognizes excellence in private and independent school marketing and communications. The Brilliance Awards are sponsored by InspirED School Marketers, a community that provides “brilliant ideas and brain food” for private school administrators around the globe.
The entries were judged by a volunteer panel of 71 marketing experts from around the world who are professionals in private schools or businesses that specialize in private school marketing. The entries were scored on originality, persuasiveness, copy/script/dialog, visual elements, execution, and overall appeal.
The winning video, “In a Word,” was created by Orcas Island filmmaker Kyle Carver of Free Road Films, after three days of filming on the Spring Street campus last Spring. The unscripted film is a candid look at Spring Street International School, through the words of students and faculty.
“We have a tradition where we give each senior a word at graduation that encapsulates their essence,” says Head of School Louis Prussack. “My word for Spring Street – which the film captures perfectly—is ‘changes lives one relationship at a time.’ I know that is seven words, but we get to break the rules sometimes.”
As one of the competition judges commented, “’In a Word’ is educational, inspirational, and fun! No doubt sending your child to a school (adventure!) far away takes some convincing, and the video really created cut through by showcasing the school's USPs in a practical and authentic way, while also subtly telling the school's academic story. Well done!”
The video is posted at the end of this article, it can also be viewed on www.springstreet.org or https://youtu.be/96d0hycOFbk.
