Seattle Land Use attorney hired by CSA
Land Use Attorney Sandy Mackie of the Perkins Coie Law Offices in Seattle has been hired by Common Sense Alliance (CSA), a local group whose mission is educate islanders, the San Juan County Council, county staff and the county Planning Commission about the law and process regarding updates to the Critical Areas Ordinance (CAO) and the Shoreline Management Plan (SMP).
CSA's team of professionals includes attorneys, civil engineers, business leaders, licensed and certified hydrologists and geologists.
"We look forward to having Sandy's guidance and assistance in resolving the critical legal issues as proposed in the draft Critical Areas Ordinances (CAO) and Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) prepared by San Juan County," said Dave Cable, Executive Director of CSA .
CSA considers it critical to consider the social, economic and environmental impacts of change upon the county's rural way of living, and to evaluate and balance those competing interests as common sense advises and the law requires. Such an effort requires resources, human as well as financial, to reach out to the community.
