Updated Feb. 11: Both levies passed, turnout in San Juan County; #1 in the state
San Juan County Special Election results:
San Juan Island EMS levy renewal passed. 2,472 (65.26 percent) yes | 1,316 (34.74 percent) no. This keeps SJ EMS as part of the Public Hospital District.
San Juan Island School District levy renewal passed. 2,635 (70.14) yes | 1,122 (29.86 percent) no. This funds a portion of the district's programs and operating expenses.
Voters cast 3,790 ballots or 51.86 percent as of the last count at 2:37 p.m. February 9, 2022. There are 7,033 registered voters in the PHD taxing district and the SJISD district. Approximately 75 votes remain to be counted in San Juan County.
San Juan County's turnout was the highest in the state by percentage. Wahkiakum County was second with 49.49%.
The election results will be certified on February 18, 2022.
