June 5: Community meeting about proposed Zylstra Preserve to Town Trail

June 5, 2024 | 4 to 5:30 pm | Marie Boe Building | San Juan County Fairgrounds | 849 Argyle Ave |Friday Harbor

Despite an unanimous no vote from San Juan County Council last year to the idea of a 10-ft wide paved multi-modal trail connecting the Town of Friday Harbor to Zylstra Lake Preserve, the County continues working on a plan for a trail connecting the two entities.

The community is invited to a meeting where  the trail project goals will be recapped, potential trail routes shared, and an open discussion for ideas and feedback will be held.

Also under consideration are other routes and destinations that connect the Town with neighborhoods, public lands, and other amenities.

The meeting is in person at the Marie Boe Building. Due to the interactive nature of the meeting with various group exercises, a Zoom option is not available.

At this time, multiple trail routes and destinations are under consideration and no decisions have been made. For more information, including a larger version of the draft map, visit the County’s Engage website: https://engage.sanjuancountywa.gov/town-to-zylstra-lake-trail

Please email any initial questions or concerns to trails@sanjuancountywa.gov. This feedback will help guide the upcoming community meeting.
