Two dogs sought after deadly attack on Doberman on Orcas Island

On January 11, 2023, an Orcas Island deputy responded to a report of two unknown dogs attacking a Doberman Pincher in the area of Crow Valley Rd and Sunnyside Ln. The Doberman died as a result of the attack. The Doberman's owner did not recognize the attacking dogs. The two dogs left the area together prior to the Deputy arriving. The dogs have not yet been located and an owner of these dogs is unknown at this time.

The dogs were described as:

A large grey/brindle Pitbull

A Shepard/Lab mix, with medium hair, pointed nose, and a long upright tail.

Deputies are still attempting to locate these dogs and identify the owner(s).

If anyone has information as to the identity of the dogs and/or their owner(s) or see dogs running loose matching these descriptions, please contact the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch center at 360-378-4151 or in case of emergency dial 9-1-1. All information will be routed to Detective R. Harvey or Sergeant H. Crowe.

On January 14, 2023, the same Deputy was informed of an unsubstantiated rumor that two unknown dogs had attacked a dog and its owner at Island Hardware, however, this rumored incident has not been reported to the Sheriff’s Office at this time.
