$2K reward for info about wide-spread vandalism
Over the past weekend, vandals left a trail of destruction in Friday Harbor. Tires on 11 cars were slashed, damage was down to the Presbyterian Church Pre-school and Friday Harbor Elementary school, messages of hate were spray painted on the Jehovah's Witness Church, Homes for Islanders houses under construction were spray painted, mailboxes were bashed. The vandals vomited on cars and duct-taped sheds.
Duncan Wilson, Friday Harbor town administrator wrote on Facebook: The vandalizing that occurred over the weekend has a lot of us pretty steamed. The destruction of other people's property is simply unacceptable....especially here. With the Mayor's consent, the Town will be putting together a $500 reward fund for information resulting in the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the damage."
The reward, which is growing as citizens contribute, will be paid to the first person who provides information. If the crime is solved by several tips, the reward will be split accordingly.
If you would like to contribute to the reward fund please call Wilson at 360-378-2810. If the crime is not solved in six months, the money will be refunded to the donors.
If you have information about the criminals who committed these crimes please call the sheriff's office at 360.378.4151.
