SLIDESHOW: Friday Harbor 4th of July parade 2022

“United We Stand, saluting heroes, helpers and essential workers” was  the theme of the 2022 Fourth of July Parade in Friday Harbor. Lin and Pam Pearson, who organized the parade for 17 years, were the Grand Marshals.

Vicky Thalacker, was the honored citizen. Through her leadership, a local pilot, and the local Soroptimist chapter, the San Juan Eagles were organized in 2002 to fly cancer patients to mainland cancer treatment centers on a voluntary basis.

Crowds of islanders lined both sides of Spring Street from Price to First Streets. The parade was sponsored by the San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce.

The prize winners will be posted Tuesday afternoon. Categories are: Best Use of Theme Float, Best Use of Theme Non-Float, Best Use of Theme- Children/Youth, Best Costume Group, Best Animal/Animal Group, Judges Choice, Best Off-Island Entry, and Best Vehicle.

There are 84 photos of the parade in the slideshow posted at the top of this page. Photos by Sharon Kivisto
