San Juan Islands Sheriff's Log March 29-April 4: Threats, fraud, speeding, animal health check, stolen electric bike, damaged fence
San Juan County Deputies responded to 218 calls from March 29 - April 4, 2023 including: The Sheriff's Office received a report of a suspicious person on Shaw Island. Deputies responded. The suspicious person was contacted and identified. He left on the next ferry to Anacortes. A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a threats call. A middle-aged man called to report that his elderly mother has been sending him threatening messages. A report was taken. San Juan Island deputy stopped a vehicle as both occupants were not wearing seatbelts. The driver was arrested for driving without ignition interlock and the deputy located approximately 1/2 ounce of methamphetamine in their purse. This is the 12th similar arrest for the individual since 2020. A deputy on Orcas Island responded to an animal sick call near the ferry landing. After a complete investigation, it was found to be in good health and an informational report was written.
