San Juan Islands Sheriff's Log May 24-30, 2023: Vehicle prowls, mail theft, overdose, sinking boat off Jacksons Beach, 2 dog bites...

San Juan County Deputies responded to 230 calls from May 24-30, 2023 including: A Lopez Deputy responded when a Lopez citizen reported hearing a loud crashing noise near Hooterville Lane. Upon investigation, the deputy found that a construction crew was working in the area. A Friday Harbor resident made a report of Harassment from an employee of a local business. It was suggested the reporting party report the attitude and behavior to the manager of the business and a statement was emailed to the reporting party.Deputies on San Juan and an Orcas Deputy responded to a report of a domestic incident on a vessel. It was determined that no crime had been committed. One involved party had an out of county arrest warrant. The individual was arrested for their warrant.

WSF Virtual meeting Wednesday, May 31

Washington State Ferries staff are hosting a virtual community meeting focused on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands route tonight at 6 pm WEDNESDAY, MAY 31 via ZOOM. There will be another meeting tomorrow evening focused on the Edmonds/Kingston route. Both meetings will be at 6 p.m. on their respective days and prior registration is required.
