VernaLee Provchy was born December 02, 1941 and passed to be in heaven to be with her husband Andrew Provchy and daughter Netty Provchy and many friends on March 17, 2022.
She attended Benton City High School and then after graduation left her loving large family and moved to Seattle Washington to pursue hair dressing on a bus with $25 and lived at the YMCA. In 1962 she met her best friend and married Andrew Provchy after failing to set him up with her other 3 roommates. After his relentless pursuit she spent the next 42 years growing and sharing their lives. Together they built a very successful life filled with love and surrounded by much of their lives with the beauty, adventure and lifelong friendships this amazing island life provides.
Over those 42 years they were blessed with their beautiful daughter Netty Renee Provchy in 1968 who tragically passed at 4 years old. In 1973 they were blessed with their second child Gregory Provchy in 1973 who was not nearly as beautiful as their daughter had been but was always surrounded with so much love who survives both parents.
VernaLee went from working at multiple different beauty shops throughout Washington State as her husband was promoted to different positions in the banking world after college until opening a highly successful hair salon in Friday Harbor, Washington. When her son turned 11, she left her beauty salon to raise and spend time with her son. She was an avid fisherman spending nearly every summer day with her son salmon fishing, gardening or spending countless hours on their beach with her son looking for just the perfect arrowhead.
VernaLee was a skilled at water skiing and receiving numerous bowling trophies. She was also a proud deacon of the church helping many families on the island. Also, VernaLee was always helping any animals she could and avid supporter of numerous animal charities. Most of all VernaLee was first and foremost an incredible wife and incredible mom and best friend.
