Carol Breeden took off on her last adventure
Carol Breeden passed away January 13, 2023 after a short illness. She was active at her home at the Village up until that time. She helped the staff with decorating for any holiday, and enjoyed helping set up for for activities and loved bingo. She was very sociable and cared about other residents. Carol had been at the Village from the time it opened and considered herself junior supervisor. She had energy, creativity, intelligence and an interest in many things.
Carol was born and raised in Forsyth, Montana. She was raised on her parents’ ranch with her two brothers. Carol moved to Anchorage, where she met the love of her life, Bud Breeden. After a while of working as a bush pilot, Carol decided to settle down into a job as a banker. She continued to work at a bank until she and her husband decided to move to Friday Harbor where they built their own home and lived there for many years. When asked why she moved to Friday Harbor, Carol stated that she moved here because the weather was moderate, and the community was small.
Some years after Bud died Carol decided to move into the Village, where she had renewed interest in many creative projects and enjoyed socializing with staff and residents.
