MVC golf team beats Friday Harbor 192 to 220
- Written by Coach Jack Rice
Friday Harbor High School golf team played Mount Vernon Christian's team at the Avalon Golf Club on April 23. Coach Jack Rice sent in this report.
Mount Vernon took advantage of home course knowledge and handed Friday Harbor a solid whopping. Even though we lost the match, it turned out to be a great day for golf. Avalon is a quality 27-hole Golf Course that is quite challenging. The course and MVC was kind enough to allow us to bring two van loads of players.
We had a little extra time on the way back to the ferry so we pulled into Swinomish Golf Club in Anacortes. The Swinomish Tribe purchased the course about a year ago and it has become a kid friendly course. The local Pro was kind enough to let the team play golf for a couple hours while we waited for our scheduled ferry.
MVC defeated Friday Harbor 192-220. Medalist for the match was from MVC, Max Hanson 39. Low for Friday Harbor with Ethan Havel with 44.
