Orcas Island teams to face Life Christian in state regionals

Orcas Island boys and girls will compete against Life Christian in the regional round of their Class 2B State Basketball Tournaments Saturday, Feb. 24 at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma. The girls will tip off at 6 p.m. and boys will play at 8 p.m.



The Orcas boys and girls teams are a 16th seeds and the Eagles’ squads are 9th seeds.

The Vikings boys (10-8) finished second in the Northwest 2B/1B League and earned a state berth by finishing third in the Bi-District Tournament. Life Christian (21-4) won the Pacific 2B League and placed fourth in the District 4 Tournament.

Orcas’ girls (10-8) placed fourth in the Northwest 2B/1B League and also snagged a state tourney spot with a third-place finish in the Bi-District Tournament. Life Christian’s girls (16-5) were second in the Pacific 2B League and finished fourth in the District 4 Tournament.
